The new network issuer is a smart contract that allows you to create credentials on the network. The latter can extract information from both internal and external sources.
Online information sources allow you to generate an account using publicly available information. For example, credentials that confirm ownership of a token without disclosing the address, or information that reflects on-chain reputation, calculated based on certain criteria of a person's history of participation in the network.
When the source of information is off-chain, the possibilities expand to creating an account on-chain using off-chain information. The client application will take the offline document and convert it into verifiable credentials that will remain in the user's identity wallet.
